Forest Hill Nature Area
11297 N. Rich Road
Alma, MI 48801
The Forest Hill Nature Area is an environmental and outdoor STEM education center located between Gratiot and Isabella Counties in Michigan. This 90 acre nature area was farmed starting in 1856 but has been slowly transformed back to a natural setting including reintroduced wetlands, woodlots, native wildflower meadows and established prairies. Throughout all of these habitats, Forest Hill Nature Area has easy hiking trails to enjoy wildlife, native plantings and woods. Schools throughout Central Michigan are welcome to schedule place based learning experiences that are led by Nature Guides to help inspire and connect students to their natural communities and encourage awareness and responsibility.
